Colgate-Palmolive and Reading Is Fundamental (RIF), the nation's oldest and largest children's literacy nonprofit organization, first teamed up in 2004 to provide new book collections to children nationwide. Colgate is committed to promoting children's literacy and has contributed more than $800,000 to RIF since 2004 to help share the joy of reading and build healthy reading, brushing and hand washing habits among children.

Through the Healthy Bedtime Habits program, thousands of books and bilingual resources have been donated to children across the country. In 2007, Colgate and RIF will donate new book collections to select children's organizations nationwide.

Reading Is Fundamental, Inc. (RIF), founded in 1966, motivates children to read by working with them, their parents, and community members to make reading a fun and beneficial part of everyday life. RIF's highest priority is reaching underserved children from birth to age 8. Through community volunteers in every state and U.S. territory, RIF provides 4.5 million children with 16 million new, free books and literacy resources each year.
